Three layouts of CATIA analog wiring harness design
In the early-stage design of the wiring harness, in order to make the wiring harness more reasonable, accurate in size and shorten the development cycle, 3D software is usually used to simulate wiring.
At present, commonly used 3D wiring harness wiring software includes CATIA, PROE, UG, etc. CATIA wire harness 3D simulation is relatively simple and practical. However, UG and PROE are too complicated and cumbersome in actual operation, so CATIA has a wide range of practical applications in the automotive industry. Such as: FAW, Chery, Jianghuai, Youth Lotus and other automobile OEMs all use CATIA software. The wire harness design software CATIA is used for the 3D layout design of the wire harness. Since the direction and layout of the wiring harness are mainly controlled by factors such as the installation position of the electrical load and the vehicle body space, the layout design of the wiring harness is often determined according to the installation position of the electrical load. At present, there are three common international wiring harness layout methods, namely: E-type wiring harness layout design, H-type wiring harness layout design, and T-type wiring harness layout design.
1. E-type layout
The wiring harness layout shape is similar to the letter E. The wiring harness of the whole vehicle runs through a wiring harness channel from front to back, which is suitable for small and medium vehicles. For example: Sagitar, Elantra, Roewe 550, etc.
Advantages and limitations: The layout is simple, reducing the through holes from the engine compartment to the cockpit; When the electrical functions of the whole vehicle increase, the single front and rear wiring harness connection channel causes the wiring harness to be thick, which is not convenient for the assembly of the wiring harness, and is also not conducive to the production of the wiring harness.
2. H-shaped layout
The wiring harness layout shape resembles the letter H. The car body floor wiring harness runs along the center console of the instrument. One part passes through the body sheet metal holes on the left and right sides to the front of the car, and the other part goes backwards along the floor to supply power to the lighting and other systems. For example: Huatai Automobile, Changan Yuexiang, Lotus L5, etc.
Advantages and limitations: The whole vehicle wiring harness has 2 channels from front to rear, so the wiring harness layout is more flexible, the wiring harness is relatively thin, and the production of automobile wiring harness is more convenient. This solution is often used in high-end models with more electrical functions.
3. T-shaped layout
The wiring harness layout shape is similar to the letter T. The instrument wiring harness is integrated with the floor wiring harness, which runs through the left and right sides of the instrument panel and is arranged on the vehicle floor from the front driver and the co-pilot to the rear of the vehicle. This wiring harness layout is not very common. The main wiring harness with T-shaped layout has a large number of loops and wires, and the quality of the wiring harness is large, which is not conducive to the production of the wiring harness.
