What are flame-retardant wires and cables?

Flame-retardant LIYY data signal cable
Flame-retardant (FR, FRLS, ZR-YJV) cables are burning under specified test conditions. After the test fire source is removed, the flame spread is only within a limited range, and the residual flame can be extinguished by itself within a limited time. The fundamental feature is: it may be burned out in the event of a fire and cannot be operated, but it can prevent the spread of the fire. That is: if the wire catches fire, it can limit the combustion to a local area without spreading, so as to protect other various equipment and avoid greater losses.
The burning of wire, cable and cable is caused by external heating and generates flammable gas. To achieve the purpose of flame retardancy, the three elements that cause combustion must be suppressed, namely: combustible gas, heat and oxygen. Therefore, the method generally used for flame-retardant wires and cables is to add halogen-containing halides and metal oxides to the sheath material. From the perspective of flame retardancy, this is an excellent method. However, because these materials contain halides, they release a large amount of smoke and hydrogen halide gas during combustion. Therefore, the low visibility during a fire brings great obstacles to the safe evacuation of personnel and fire fighting, and more people are suffocated to death by toxic gases.
In addition, once the hydrogen halide gas reacts with water in the air, "hydrohalide acid" is generated, which severely corrodes equipment and buildings and causes "secondary disasters."
With the continuous improvement of the level of science and technology, the flame retardant problem has been further developed from halogen flame retardant in the past to low halogen, halogen-free flame retardants.

Low-smoke halogen-free flexible wire
· Cables for electrical equipment:
Used as a connection wire for electrical equipment, with internal wiring or external wiring

· power cable:
Also known as power cable, used to transmit electrical energy. It is often used for underground laying (urban power transmission).

· Overhead wire (bare wire):
Also known as bare wire, used for special input of electric energy; it is often used for overhead laying and low cost.

· Communication Cable:
Used to transmit incoming electrical signals; often laid underground or overhead.

· Enameled wire (winding wire):
Also known as winding wire, it is used in motor windings to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.

· Optical woven optical cable:
Used to transmit optical signals. Because of its low attenuation performance, it is often used as the backbone of long-distance communications.

· ZR-YJV:
Namely flame-retardant YJV, the full name is flame-retardant XLPE insulated and PVC sheathed power cable
PREV:Manufacturers LSZH wire, cable
